Medeama will host Nations FC in a highly anticipated Ghana Premier League match in Tarkwa on Wednesday.

The reigning champions are beginning a stretch of three consecutive home games, with the match against the Kumasi-based team kicking off this sequence.

Medeama is currently situated at the bottom of the league table after a disappointing start to their Premier League title defense.

A victory over the newly-promoted Nations FC could potentially lift them out of the relegation zone.

The team led by coach Evans Augustine Adotey is eager to bounce back after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Dreams FC in a heated match at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday.

Medeama is aiming for only their second win of the season, and they have another outstanding match against Nsoatreman in the pipeline for next week.

Winning the next three home matches could see Medeama climb to the top of the table as they currently sit in 18th place with just four points.

Medeama will once again be without midfield stalwart Manuel Mantey, Godknows Dzakpasu, and versatile Baba Musah Abdulai. Additionally, defender Ebenezer Nkrumah is considered a major doubt for the fixture against Winning is Within.

Nations FC has also experienced a tough start to the season, sitting in 14th place with five points from five games. They secured a late 2-2 draw against Asante Kotoko in a controversial match at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

Both teams are expected to provide an entertaining match in the mining town of Tarkwa on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
