Paul Ayongo was rewarded with the man of the match gong for his outstanding display in his side’s one nil win over Benfica B.

Adongo’s goal gave his side Academico Viseu the win in the Portuguese Segunda Liga game played at the Caixa Futebol Campus.

The only goal of the game came in the 26th minute of a heavily contested fixture where goals were very difficult to come by as both teams cancelled each other out.

He has been used sparingly since joining the lower tier Portuguese side in the summer as this was his first start and only his second appearance.

Adongo made his debut last week as he played 44 minutes in his side’s two nil loss to Cova Piedade.

The 23 year old Ghanaian is playing for his second Portuguese side after winning the league with Paços de Ferreira where he was on the periphery playing ten games and scoring four goals.
