Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has acknowledged his side’s recent struggles in the Ghana Premier League and is determined to correct the team’s shortcomings.

The Porcupine Warriors have endured a difficult run, failing to win in their last five league matches, with four losses and a single draw.

Their latest setback came at the hands of regional rivals Nations FC, who secured a 2-0 victory over Kotoko at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

Ogum remains hopeful, however, emphasizing that there are still plenty of games left in the season.

“There are more games to be played, so we still stand by our purpose.

It’s all about finding solutions to what exactly the problem is, and once we are able to find solutions, we will be good to go,” he stated.

A significant concern for Ogum is the team’s defensive frailty. “Look at the goals we’ve been giving away. These are not goals that opponents worked for.

We have been conceding cheap goals, and some of these goals sometimes discourage you,” he added.

Asante Kotoko, now sitting in 8th place on the league table with 15 points, will face a tough test when they travel to Aduana Stars this weekend, followed by an intense encounter against their archrivals Hearts of Oak.

Ogum is focused on addressing the defensive issues and regaining the winning form needed to push up the standings.
