South African police Wednesday fired rubber bullets and water cannon to disperse protesters outside President Jacob Zuma’s office in the administrative capital Pretoria, according to an AFP photographer at the scene.

Supporters of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party had tried to storm the Union Buildings to call for Zuma’s resignation as discontent grows over his leadership.
