SWAG AWARDS: Partey,Atsu and Boakye-Yiadom beat Ayew and others for footballer of the year slot

Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey, Christian Atsu (Newcastle United),  Daniel Nii Adjei – (TP Mazembe, DRC) and Richmond Boakye Yiadom (Red Star Belgrade, Serbia) have all earned nominations for ‘footballer of the year’ category for the 43rd SWAG Awards Night.

The four footballers were in scintillating form for their respective clubs in the year under review pipping the likes of West Ham player Andre Ayew who is struggling to regain top form and junior brother Jordan Ayew who also plies his trade in England with Swansea City.

Thomas Partey received series of praises from football lovers for his success as a first team played under tactician Diego Simeone at the Spanish outfit.

Winger Christian Atsu on the other hand helped his team secure a return to the English Premier League under Rafa Benitez and keeping his foot on the pedal.

Both Partey and Atsu earned nominations for African footballer of the year 2017 and are well positioned for the top awards scheme in Ghana.

Red Star Belgrade Striker Boakye Yiadomwas also in the  form of his life for his Serbian side scoring four goals I. A single match in a historic 6-1 thumping of Rad Beograd.

Daniel Nii Adjei also won the hearts of TP Mazembe fans with heroic performances throughout the year.
