Technical issue forces delay in education sector allowances

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced a delay in the payment of two categories of allowances for workers in the education sector.

The allowances, which were scheduled to be paid in November 2025, could not be processed after a technical issue occurred during the final payroll run. The department said the pause was necessary to avoid disrupting the payment of November salaries for all Government of Ghana employees.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the CAGD assured affected workers that the technical problem is being resolved and that the outstanding allowances will be paid together with December salaries on December 18, 2025.

“We regret the inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate your patience,” the statement read.
