We need to improve on our decision making – Hearts coach Dramani after Aduana draw
Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has blamed his players’ poor decision-making for their frustrating goalless draw against Aduana Stars F.C. in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Phobians welcomed the Dormaa-based side to the Accra Sports Stadium knowing that only a victory would keep their fading title ambitions alive.
Despite controlling large parts of the match and creating several attacking opportunities, Hearts failed to convert their dominance into goals and were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw at full-time.
Speaking after the match, Dramani admitted his side must improve their choices in key moments if they are to compete at the highest level.
“I think that it’s part of the sporting event where you have challenges, and you have learning curves,” he said.
“I believe this is part of the learning, and we will deal with the challenges. It is still decision-making. I have said it from day one. I think we need to improve our decision-making.”
The former assistant coach of Ghana’s national team added that progress can only come when players and coaches honestly acknowledge their shortcomings.
“What is important in football is that you always need to improve and you need to be humble enough to agree that there is work to be done and you have to grow,” he added.
The result officially ends Hearts of Oak’s hopes of winning the Ghana Premier League title this season.
The Accra giants will now shift their attention to securing victories in their remaining two matches as they aim to finish inside the league’s top four.
