Danbort abort Division One league over refeering decisions
Ghana Division One league side FC Danbort have aborted the league in protest of what in their view was bad refereeing decisions against them in a 2:1 home lose to Dreams FC.
The second tier outfit had earlier protested over the appointment of referee Juliet Appiah for the cracker but had their plea overlooked by the appointment committee.
The game was marred by several controversies after Danbort goalkeeper Prosper Gbeku was shown the red card for pummeling the female referee.
Club officials held a crisis meeting following the match and revealed that they have opted to quit the league in protest.

Club owner Daniel Bortey
Club owner Daniel Bortey believes it is a waste of time and resources to continue to participate in the league.
“It’s not worth it to be wasting time, energy and resources in Ghana football, he told Accra-base Happy FM
“We protested against the choice of the referee but the appointment committee turned a deaf ear.
“She came here with the result in her pocket and I cannot continue again.
“I have asked the players to find their way and possibly look for new clubs. As far as I am concerned I’m out of football.”
Danbort are placed 7th on the table with 25 points and appear out of touch to catch leaders Dreams FC, who are on 51 points.
