The Black Stars have pledged to put Thursday’s disappointment behind them and deliver a strong performance when they host Mali in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The commitment follows a morale-boosting visit to camp by Sports Minister, Hon. Kofi Adams, who urged the players to restore national pride after their 1-1 draw with Chad in N’Djamena.

“I know what you’re capable of,” Minister Adams told the team. “There’s no better team than you. You have the talent, the passion, and the opportunity to turn this around.”

Head coach Otto Addo underlined the team’s renewed focus on qualification, highlighting the advantage of returning to the natural grass surface of the Accra Sports Stadium. The technical staff have been working to tighten tactical lapses that cost Ghana maximum points against Chad.

A senior squad member echoed the determination within camp:

“We know what went wrong, and we are determined to correct it. The win is coming.”

The Ministry of Sports has also reassured the team of full support and resources as they aim to secure early qualification for the tournament in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.

With Ghana still leading Group I on 16 points, Monday’s clash with third-placed Mali represents a decisive moment in their campaign—and a chance to reassert their dominance in front of home fans.
