GPL: Ashanti Gold appoint Milovan Cirkovic as new head coach
Ghanaian top-flight side Ashanti Gold SC have appointed Serbian tactician Milovan Cirkovic as their new head coach ahead of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League campaign.
The experienced trainer will replace Italian Roberto Landi who left the Miners two months ago following a reported misunderstanding with management of the club.
The arrival of Cirkovic ends AshGold’s pursuit of Eleven Wonders trainer Ignatius Osei who was highly linked with the Obuasi top job a month ago.
The Serbian trainer was previously the deputy coach of Borak Cacak in his native country and also worked as assistant coach of Thailand from 2017 to 2019 under former Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac who was also his boss in Serbia.
Cirkovic is not new to the African continent as he handled Tanzanian giants Simba FC in 2013.
