The future of Ghanaian defender John Boye remains gloomy as his club Metz are unwilling to offer him the terms he so wishes.
Boye who was integral in helping his side stay in the French Ligue 1 will have his contract expire at the end of next month.
The player who is 35 years old wants a three year deal while his club are reluctant to offer such a long term deal to a player in the twilight of his career.
Metz are intent on keeping the Ghanaian stalwart but will not offer him more than a year’s contract.
“We have a commitment: given his age and the services rendered, if a club offers him a three-year contract, he can leave because, on our side, we will not offer such an extension. But we want him to come back for a season with us,” the President of Metz indicated.
The Ghanaian will be a free agent in June and can move to any club of his choice.
