Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has lauded the new partnership between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Adesa Production Limited, expressing optimism that the collaboration will mark a turning point in the development of football in the country.

Speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the official unveiling ceremony held in Accra on Thursday, Mr. Debrah described the agreement as a strategic move in line with the government’s broader objective of positioning sports as a driver of national development.

“The initiative we are launching today is a direct reflection of that vision. It stems from a directive to reposition sports — not merely as an expenditure item — but as a viable growth sector,” he stated.

He commended the GFA, Adesa Productions, and all participating clubs for embracing what he called a “bold step forward,” noting that while challenges may arise, the shared commitment of stakeholders would be vital to achieving success.

“To the GFA, to Adesa Productions Limited, and to all clubs — we thank you for your boldness. The journey will not be without its challenges. But with commitment, transparency, and shared purpose, we will elevate Ghanaian football to unprecedented heights,” Mr. Debrah added.

Under the terms of the partnership, Adesa Production Limited will be responsible for the full broadcast production of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, which kicks off in mid-September.

As part of the agreement, each participating Premier League club will receive GHS 1 million in funding ahead of the new season — a move expected to bolster club operations and competitiveness across the league.
