Asante Kotoko have confirmed the signing of young defender Musa Hamzata ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The 22-year-old joins the Porcupine Warriors on a three-year contract from relegated side Accra Lions.

“This is a huge step for me, and I’m grateful for the chance to wear the Kotoko shirt,” Hamzata said after sealing the move.

“I know the expectations here are very high, but I’m ready for that challenge. I want to grow as a player, help the team win trophies, and show that I can be one of the best defenders in the league.”

A graduate of PAC Academy, Hamzata impressed during his time with Accra Lions and has already joined his new teammates in training. He was spotted watching the club’s games in the GHALCA Top 4 and could make his debut in the Champion of Champions clash against Bibiani GoldStars.

Asante Kotoko, who won their 10th FA Cup title last season, will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup and face Nigeria’s Kwara United in the preliminary round.
