Bonuses owed Black Queens and Black Satellites will be honoured soon-Kofi Adams

Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has appealed for patience and calm following reports that the Black Queens are threatening to boycott their second-leg WAFCON qualifier against Egypt due to unpaid bonuses and per diems.
The Queens hold a 3–0 advantage from the first leg in Ismailia, but tensions have escalated over delayed payments from their 2024 WAFCON campaign, where they finished third in Morocco.
“We are pleading with them. This is our country, Ghana, and we will honour what is due to them,” Adams said on Asempa FM.
Adams acknowledged that both the Black Queens and the Black Satellites (U-20 men’s team) are yet to receive their per diems and bonuses from recent international assignments.
“In the case of the U-20, their per diems have not been paid… but all is in process,” he explained.
“Once the Finance Ministry gives the release letter and the Controller and Accountant General credits the account, we will honour all payments.”
The standoff threatens Ghana’s qualification for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which also serves as a gateway to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
