Black Queens star Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah rallies team to triumph against Egypt

Black Queens forward Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has issued a rallying call to her teammates, urging them to finish the job in style as Ghana prepares to face Egypt in the second leg of the 2026 WAFCON qualifiers.
The match, set for Tuesday, October 28 at the Accra Sports Stadium, marks Boye-Hlorkah’s first game on home soil, adding emotional weight to her message.
“First half completed 3–0. Let’s go again and get the job done,” she posted on social media.
With goals from Doris Boaduwaa, Mary Amponsah and Grace Asantewaa, the Black Queens were able to grab a resounding victory in Suez against the Cleopatras of Egypt.
The team’s build-up was marred by a boycott over unpaid bonuses, with each player owed $9,500 from their third-place finish at the 2025 WAFCON in Morocco. The standoff led to interventions from Sports Minister Kofi Adams and GFA President Kurt Okraku, and a Presidency directive for immediate payment.
Following the resolution, the Queens resumed training and are now focused on securing qualification.
The Black Queens will be completing the two-legged 2026 Women’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against The Cleopatras of Egypt on Tuesday afternoon at 15;30 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium, going into the game with a three-goal advantage and with hopes of securing a victory after the encounter.

An aggregate win will send Ghana to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which also serves as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
