Hohoe United showcased tenacity and tactical bravery in their Week 8 Ghana Premier League clash, holding title contenders Medeama SC to a 1–1 draw at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The newly promoted side stunned Medeama early with a quick counterattack, finished by Francis Odoom, and held the lead into halftime. But Abdul Salam’s second-half equalizer salvaged a point for the visitors.

Head coach Tijani Bashiru praised his team’s effort but acknowledged the need for defensive improvement:

“We played against a complete team… my boys really deserve the credit. We have a lot to learn, especially in our defence.”

“We’re babies playing with our fathers… I’m happy with the performance although that wasn’t the score line we wanted.”

Aduana FC’s 1–0 win over Eleven Wonders on Sunday sees them leapfrog Medeama to the top of the table, while Hohoe United continue to build credibility in their debut campaign.
