Ghana premier league side Medeama midfielder Salim Adams has received his first senior national team call-up following ahead of the Black Stars friendly game against Mexico after an impressive run of form with Medeama SC, in what many fans have described as a long-awaited decision.

The 21-year-old has been one of the most consistent performers in the Ghana Premier League this season, registering 11 goals and earning eight Man of the Match awards in 26 appearances. His contributions have been central to Medeama’s campaign, drawing widespread attention from supporters and analysts alike.

Adams’ inclusion in the Black Stars squad comes after mounting calls from Ghanaian football enthusiasts who have tracked his progress throughout the season. Many had argued that his performances merited recognition at the highest level.

The Tarkwa-based club is expected to take pride in the midfielder’s achievement, as it highlights the growing impact of locally based players on the national stage.

Adams now faces the challenge of translating his club form into success with the national team, as Ghana continues preparations for upcoming 2026 World Cup.
