A grieving widow is calling on authorities to hunt down and prosecute the man she holds responsible for her husband’s death — a tragedy allegedly sparked by nothing more than an unmet promise of twenty cedis.

Frimpomaa Rose, a sachet water trader based in Dampong, is now navigating life as a single mother of four after her husband, 31-year-old Eric Anane, was allegedly cut down by an acquaintance following a heated dispute over money in Asuboa, in the Asante Akyem South Municipality.

Reports indicate that the altercation broke out after Eric failed to follow through on an agreement to hand over GH¢20 to the suspect — a man known only as Richmond — a seemingly minor falling-out that spiralled fatally out of control. Richmond has since fled and remains at large.

Pouring her heart out to Adom News, Frimpomaa described the loss as utterly devastating, and made a passionate plea to law enforcement and relevant authorities to ensure her husband’s alleged killer does not escape accountability. With Eric gone, the burden of raising their four children now rests entirely on her shoulders.

Community leaders have also weighed in on the matter. Kofi Yeboah, who chairs the Unit Committee for the Asuboa Electoral Area, confirmed that police have formally opened an investigation and that efforts to locate and apprehend Richmond are actively underway. He gave his assurance that the pursuit of justice remains a priority for local authorities.
