Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo saw his hopes of winning a first English Premier League title come to an end after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

City travelled to the Vitality Stadium knowing only a victory would keep their title ambitions alive heading into the final weekend of the 2025/26 campaign.

But Pep Guardiola’s side struggled to break down a determined Bournemouth team that was equally desperate for points in its pursuit of European qualification.

The hosts struck first in the 32nd minute when French forward Eli Junior Kroupi fired Bournemouth into the lead, sending the home crowd into celebration before halftime.

Manchester City pushed for a response after the break and eventually found an equaliser through Erling Haaland late in the second half. However, the Norwegian’s goal was not enough to secure the win City needed to stay in the title race.

The draw confirmed Arsenal as Premier League champions before the final round of fixtures, ending City’s hopes of another league triumph.

For Semenyo, the result marks a painful end to what had been a promising title chase. The Ghana international had been hoping to secure his first Premier League crown and a third trophy with Manchester City since joining from Bournemouth during the winter transfer window.

Despite the disappointment, Semenyo remains one of Ghana’s standout performers in England this season and is expected to play a key role for both club and country in the coming months.
