Police in the Eastern Region are investigating a shocking murder case that has led to the arrest of three suspects, including the wife of the deceased, following the death of 42-year-old Nicholas Nyadjor at Nsawam-Aduakrom.

According to investigators, the case emerged after Nyadjor was found dead under circumstances that prompted a detailed police inquiry. Preliminary findings allegedly linked the killing to a domestic dispute stemming from accusations of infidelity.

According to police sources, the incident occurred on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the family home in Nsawam-Aduakrom.

Authorities have identified the suspects as Abigail Cheetham, the deceased’s wife; her son, Prince Asamoah; and a third individual, Wisdom Ameletsi. Police believe Ameletsi was allegedly recruited to assist in carrying out the crime and was promised a payment of GH¢8,000.

A major breakthrough in the investigation came through the testimony of Richmond, the deceased’s 15-year-old son, who reportedly witnessed portions of the incident.

Police say the teenager became a target after the suspects realised he had seen what had happened. He was allegedly subjected to a brutal attack and left for dead after suffering severe injuries.

However, Richmond survived the ordeal and managed to make his way to a nearby residence, where he sought help and reported the incident. His account is said to have provided investigators with crucial information that ultimately led to the arrest of the suspects.

The three individuals are currently assisting police with investigations as authorities continue to gather evidence and determine the full circumstances surrounding the killing.

Police further claim that the deceased had entrusted her with GHS30,000 for safekeeping prior to the incident.

The case has sparked widespread shock within the community, with many residents expressing disbelief over the tragic events.

The suspects, identified as Abigail Cheetham, 34, and her son Prince, have been remanded into police custody pending further investigations.
