Doha 2019: We have been neglected by the Sports Ministry;there is no per diem – Flings Owusu Agyapong

Ghana’s women 4×100 relay team are set to compete this evening in the ongoing IAAF World Athletics Championship semi-final race.
Despite the team qualifying for the world Athletics Championship after clocking a personal best of 44 at the World relay race in Yokohama, Japan.
The team are crying about an apparent neglect by the Ministry of Youth and Sports since their qualification to the World Athletics Championship in Doha, Qatar.
In an interview with Citi Fm’s Fentuo Tahiru , Flings Owusu Agyapong lamented the way and manner they have been treated by the Sports Ministry.
According to her they were not giving any special camping nor training since the qualification and had to be practising on their own.
She further adds that as its the standard practise, all Ghanaian on national assignments are normally paid per diems but in their case there is nothing of that sort.
“Whats different is all the guys are here and it always nice to have more Ghanians with us .
“In terms of what is really different I can say I’m not sure we didn’t have any preparations then and we didn’t have any preparations now.”
“The Ministry didn’t release any funds for us to have a camp or anything before that so we are still coming in with what we have been able to do and hopefully we work together with the girls.”
“I guess another difference is that we haven’t gotten any per diem from the Ministry either at the same time we don’t want that to distract us we just have to go there and do our best out there”she lamented.
