German Regionalliga Nord side FC Phönix Lübeck have completed the signing of Ghanaian centre-back Bernard Kyere, adding depth and experience to their defense ahead of the 2025–26 season.

The 29-year-old joins on a free transfer from Luxembourg top-flight club Victoria Rosport, where he featured prominently last season with 31 appearances across all competitions. Kyere has penned a two-year contract that will keep him at Lübeck until 2027.

In a club statement, Phönix Lübeck hailed the acquisition as a significant boost to their ambitions:
“FC Phönix Lübeck is signing the experienced and 88-time third league player Bernard Kyere until 2027. The 29-year-old centre-back was last active with Luxembourg’s first league team Victoria Rosport and will stabilize the Eagles’ defense.”

Sporting Director Frank Salomon praised Kyere’s qualities:
“He’s strong in the air, confident in one-on-one situations, and quick on his feet. With his calm demeanor, leadership, and vast experience, ‘Bernie’ will be key in shoring up our defense.”

Born in Cologne to Ghanaian parents, Kyere came through the youth ranks at FC Kaiserslautern before making his mark in Germany’s 3. Liga with stints at Fortuna Cologne and Waldhof Mannheim, amassing over 80 league appearances.

Though yet to represent Ghana at senior international level, Kyere remains eligible for selection and continues to be monitored by national team scouts.

His arrival is seen as a statement of intent by Phönix Lübeck, who are aiming for a strong campaign in the upcoming Regionalliga Nord season.
