Former GIHOC MD Kofi Jumah granted GHS500k bail

Former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has been granted bail to the tune of GHS500,000 with two sureties, following his arrest over allegations of stealing company vehicles.
The bail was granted on Monday, June 30, after Mr. Jumah appeared at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, where he had been in custody.
The police confirmed the arrest during a press briefing led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Yaako Donkor, who said the action followed a formal complaint lodged by GIHOC Distilleries.
According to DCOP Donkor, the petition alleged that Mr. Jumah had unlawfully taken possession of vehicles belonging to the state-owned beverage company.
“We received the petition to the effect that some vehicles, which were the property of that company, have been stolen by the said Maxwell Kofi Jumah. He is in our custody at the CID headquarters, and he is assisting in an investigation.”
“I must say that as of this afternoon, we have retrieved three vehicles; the said vehicles that were stolen by him have been retrieved, so he is really assisting us in the investigation, and we will take it up from there,” she said.
