Bibiani Goldstars head coach Frimpong Manso has highlighted several positives from their recent 1-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko in a pre-season friendly, despite the loss.

The match, held at Cape Coast Stadium, saw the Miners put up a strong performance against the Ghanaian giants. Bernard Somuah’s first-half curler was the only goal of the game, securing a narrow victory for Kotoko.

Speaking after the match, Manso, known as ‘Mayanga,’ acknowledged the competitive nature of the encounter and the valuable lessons learned.

He expressed satisfaction with his team’s overall performance but indicated that there are areas to address before the new season begins.

“Our pre-season has been very successful,” Manso said. “This was our sixth game.

Although we lost 1-0, there were many positives to take from this match. We will focus on the minor issues that need improvement before the start of the season.”

Goldstars are scheduled to return to Bibiani on August 22, concluding their training camp in the Central Region.

They will play one final pre-season friendly at Dun’s Park before the official start of the new campaign.

Manso emphasized the progress made and the importance of continued support for the team as they prepare for the season ahead.
