Founder of GN Savings and Loans, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has stated that the institution’s immediate focus is to secure the restoration of its operating licence, rehabilitate its branch network and resume full banking operations.

In a Facebook post published on June 21, 2026, Dr. Nduom said the company is committed to rebuilding its operations while fostering a professional and constructive relationship with the Bank of Ghana (BoG).

“Our objective is to get our licence restored by BoG, fix our branch buildings and re-start banking operations. We aim to establish a productive and professional relationship with our regulator, BoG, in the process,” he wrote.

Dr. Nduom indicated that Groupe Nduom is taking steps to comply with the directives of the Court of Appeal, particularly its instruction that the orders be implemented “immediately.”

According to him, the company is approaching the process with discipline and determination while remaining mindful of any legal obligations and restrictions imposed by the judicial system.

“We are taking instructions from the orders given by the Court of Appeal, particularly the word used, ‘immediately’. The way forward for Groupe Nduom is to implement the orders of the Court of Appeal with discipline and enthusiasm while observing at all times any legal rights or constraints put on us by the judiciary system. So, we have started work in earnest to prepare to re-open GN Savings,” he stated.

His remarks follow another legal victory for GN Savings and Loans in its efforts to return to business operations.

The development comes after the Court of Appeal struck out a Motion for Stay of Execution filed by the Receiver, a move that removes a key legal barrier to enforcing an earlier judgment ordering the restoration of the company’s licence as well as the return of its assets and management control.

The ruling, delivered on June 16, 2026, is widely seen as a significant step toward the institution’s reopening.

Lead counsel for Groupe Nduom, Cletus Alengah, described the court’s decision as a major milestone in the recovery process.

He said the ruling strengthens the company’s path toward resuming operations and expressed confidence that engagement with relevant stakeholders would facilitate a smooth transition as preparations for reopening continue.

According to Mr. Alengah, GN Savings and Loans remains committed to working with all parties involved to ensure an orderly restoration of assets and a successful return to serving customers.
