Heavy downpour leaves parts of Accra flooded

A brief but intense downpour on Friday, November 7, 2025, left several parts of Accra, particularly Dzorwulu, submerged and caused severe traffic congestion across major routes.

The early morning rains rendered sections of key roads impassable, stranding commuters and halting movement along the stretch linking CP, the Achimota Overhead, and East Legon. Long queues of vehicles were seen stuck in rising floodwaters as motorists struggled to navigate the inundated roads.

As of Friday afternoon, city authorities had yet to respond to the situation, leaving drivers and pedestrians to wade through the chaos caused by the short but powerful storm.
