I will never be the one to divide the NPP- Bawumia
Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has pledged to uphold unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), assuring supporters that he would never be a source of confusion or division.
Addressing a large crowd at the NPP headquarters in Accra on Thursday, August 28, after filing his nomination to contest the party’s flagbearership, Dr. Bawumia emphasised that internal unity is critical to securing victory in the 2028 general election.
“Our true Opponent is not within. Our true Opponent is out there.”
“We need unity to win, and I promise you that, just as you have known me to be, I would not do anything to bring division or conflict within the party. If there were to be anyone to create problems in the NPP, it wouldn’t be Dr. Bawumia,” he said.
He also urged his fellow contenders to treat the flagbearer race as a family contest and remain focused on the broader goal of winning back power.
Dr. Bawumia used the occasion to share aspects of his vision for Ghana, focusing on economic transformation and job creation.
