The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has played a central role in the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, where he officially unveiled the Centre of West African Studies (CWAS) for Digital Public Governance at the institution’s Greenhill campus in Accra.

The newly established centre is a joint initiative between GIMPA and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.

It is designed to strengthen the capacity of public administrators across West Africa by providing advanced training in digital technologies, modern communication systems, and innovative governance practices.

The centre is expected to serve as a regional hub for digital public governance, promoting efficiency, transparency, and innovation in public sector management across the sub-region.

As part of the anniversary activities, the Rector of GIMPA, Prof. Samuel Kwaku Bonsu, together with the Director of the Centre for West African Studies at UESTC, Zhao Shurong, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize and deepen cooperation between the two institutions.

The agreement is expected to foster joint research, academic exchange, and capacity-building programmes aimed at enhancing digital governance and strengthening public administration systems across West Africa.
