Students at Kinbu Senior High Technical School are now being subjected to mandatory searches by school authorities before entering the school premises.

This measure comes in the wake of a tragic incident on July 31, where 15-year-old Addib Alhassan, a first-year student, was allegedly stabbed and killed by a fellow student during a dispute.

The ongoing searches aim to confiscate unauthorised items, including knives and mobile phones, in an effort to prevent further violence. Students found in unapproved attire or with unkempt hair have also been barred from entering the school.

In response to the incident, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the Member of Parliament for Klottey-Korle, condemned the fatal stabbing in a statement issued on August 1, calling it “tragic” and “senseless.”

The altercation between the two students reportedly began with a heated argument, which escalated into violence, leading to Addib’s death.
