Lawrence Agyekum: “I need to stay consistent at club level to cement a place in the Black Stars”

Black Stars and Cercle Brugge midfielder, Lawrence Agyekum believes that consistency at club level will help him cement a place in the national team going forward.
The 21 year old former Red Bull Salzburg midfielder has asserted in an interview with Joy Sports that the best way possible to remain in the Black Stars setup and earning subsequent call ups to represent the nation at various stages only depends on how consistent he could be at his club.
The flamboyant and exuberant midfielder who recently got signed by the Belgium top flight side on permanent basis until 2029 after a season-long loan spell from parent club, Red Bull Salzburg, earned his first Black Stars call up in March for the 2026 World Cup qualifying double header against Chad and Madagascar.

He made his official debut for the senior national team against Chad in Accra when he came on as substitute for deputy captain, Thomas Partey on the 83rd minute.
Speaking to Joy Sports, Agyekum remarked that maintaining a high performance standards at Cercle Brugge is imperative if he is to remain in Otto Addo’s plans in the Black Stars set up.
