Leicester City reject €32m Sunderland bid for Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku

Leicester City have reportedly turned down a €32 million bid from Sunderland for Ghana international winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, according to transfer insider Edu17Burgos.
The Black Cats, newly promoted to the Premier League, have been ambitious in the market and identified the 21-year-old as a marquee signing to boost their attacking options.
However, Leicester remain determined to hold on to Fatawu, who has become one of their most prized assets despite last season’s relegation to the Championship.
Since joining permanently from Sporting Lisbon in 2023, the highly-rated winger has made 57 appearances for the Foxes, netting seven goals and showcasing his trademark dribbling ability, pace, and flair in the final third.
On the international stage, Fatawu has already won 24 caps for Ghana, cementing his reputation as one of Africa’s brightest young prospects.
Sunderland’s approach underscores their ambition to establish themselves in the Premier League, but it also reflects the rising demand for Fatawu’s services across Europe. Aston Villa and several other top-flight clubs are also believed to be keeping close tabs on his situation.
By rejecting Sunderland’s opening bid, Leicester have signaled their intent to make Fatawu central to their promotion push under new manager Marti Cifuentes, with the club keen to return to the Premier League at the first attempt.
