Mahama is serious about reform and governance- Goosie Tanoh

Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programmes, Mr. Augustus Goosie Tanoh, has praised President John Mahama’s efforts to restore credibility and legitimacy in governance, citing significant achievements within the administration’s first 120 days in office.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Point of View with Bernard Avle on Wednesday, July 2, Mr. Tanoh said the swift execution of key promises under the President’s 120-day action plan reflects a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to national transformation.
“I think that the social contract, the 120-day contract, and the fact that he has achieved all those milestones show a new, renewed determination and purpose.”
“And that sets the landscape for what is to come, and so, in that sense, yes, I think he has demonstrated clearly that he means business, he also means to promote, protect and expand business,” he noted.
“One of the interesting things is that the reset [agenda] is also about the state and the way the state relates to the citizenry, relates to businesses and other institutions. Because without an efficient and friendly state, investors will run away, and it will also become a barrier and a bar to progress and development,” he stated.
He further commended the administration’s efforts to fight corruption, highlighting the introduction of a Code of Conduct for public officials as an important step toward transparency and accountability.
“Some of the anti-corruption things he has done, such as the Code of Conduct, are to lead the way that this our dispensation we mean business and we will do it,” he added.
Mr. Tanoh’s remarks come on the heels of the official launch of the 24-Hour Economy policy, a cornerstone of the Mahama government’s development agenda. The programme aims to stimulate job creation, boost productivity, and support inclusive economic growth by promoting continuous operations in key sectors such as healthcare, transport, retail, and manufacturing.
