Man jailed two years for stealing hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music

A 41-year-old man has been sentenced to two years behind bars after pleading guilty to breaking into a vehicle and stealing hard drives containing unreleased music belonging to Beyoncé.
Kelvin Evans entered his guilty plea in Atlanta, Georgia, on charges of entering an automobile and criminal trespass, ahead of what was set to be his trial this week.
In addition to the custodial sentence, a judge handed him three years of probation.
The incident occurred on July 8, 2025, as Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour made its way to Atlanta.
Evans reportedly targeted a Jeep Wagoneer rented by choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue, both members of Beyoncé’s team, smashing the vehicle’s rear window and making off with their luggage while they were away.
Surveillance footage presented by prosecutors during jury selection showed a red Hyundai driven by Evans pulling up alongside the rental car in a parking garage. Separate footage captured the same vehicle arriving at an apartment block, with Evans handling luggage believed to belong to the two victims.
Among the items stolen were two MacBook laptops, Apple headphones, luxury clothing and accessories, and the hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé material.
Investigators have not recovered any of the stolen items.
Court records filed in Fulton County Superior Court identified Evans as a repeat offender. His lawyer addressed the court on his behalf, expressing his client’s desire to rebuild his life and contribute positively to society.
