Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup continued on Sunday as nine Black Stars players trained under head coach Carlos Queiroz in Wales ahead of an international friendly against Wales national football team on 2 June.

The training session marks an important stage in Ghana’s build-up to the tournament, which will be co-hosted by United States, Mexico and Canada in 2026.

Among the players involved in the session were captain Jordan Ayew, Abdul Fatawu, Gideon Mensah, Jerome Opoku, Marvin Senaya and Alidu Seidu.

The Black Stars head into the match looking to regain confidence after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Mexico national football team in their most recent friendly.

Coaching staff are expected to use the Wales encounter to assess fitness levels, test tactical options and build momentum ahead of the World Cup.

Ghana’s camp in Wales is also seen as an opportunity for the squad to strengthen team chemistry as preparations intensify for football’s biggest stage.
