Seven new Supreme Court Justices to Be sworn in today

The seven newly appointed Justices of the Supreme Court will be officially sworn into office today, Thursday, July 3, in a ceremony at the Jubilee House.
The event will be presided over by President John Mahama, who will administer the oath of office.
This development marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Ghana’s judiciary, enhancing the Supreme Court’s capacity to handle an expanding docket of constitutional, electoral, civil, and criminal matters.
The appointments were made in accordance with Article 144 of the 1992 Constitution, following parliamentary vetting and approval earlier this year.
The new Justices include highly experienced jurists, primarily drawn from the Court of Appeal.
The newly confirmed Justices are:
1. Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei
2. Justice Gbiel Simon Suurbaareh
3. Justice Senyo Dzamefe
4. Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo
5. Justice Philip Bright Mensah
6. Justice Janapare Bartels-Kodwo
7. Justice Hafisata Amaleboba
Their induction is expected to bolster judicial efficiency and uphold the integrity of Ghana’s legal system as the nation confronts increasingly complex legal and constitutional issues.
