Thomas Partey has been named JAC Motors Man of the Match after delivering an influential performance in Ghana’s goalless draw with England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The midfielder marked his return to the Black Stars starting line-up with a commanding display as Ghana earned a valuable point in their second Group L fixture, strengthening their hopes of reaching the knockout stages for the first time since 2010.

Partey missed Ghana’s opening 1-0 victory over Panama because of visa-related issues but made an immediate impact on his return, playing the full 90 minutes as Carlos Queiroz’s side frustrated one of the tournament’s favourites with a disciplined defensive performance.

Operating at the heart of midfield, the 33-year-old controlled the tempo of the game with his composure on the ball while making several crucial interceptions, recoveries and tackles to help neutralise England’s attacking threats.

His leadership and experience proved vital as the Black Stars maintained their organisation throughout the contest to secure a hard-earned clean sheet and move to four points from two matches.

In recognition of his outstanding display, the Ghana Football Association’s official vehicle partner, JAC Motors, named Partey the Man of the Match. He received a commemorative plaque and a cash prize of $2,000 after being selected by the GFA’s technical committee.

JAC Motors has also confirmed it will continue to reward the best-performing Ghana player in the team’s remaining World Cup matches, beginning with Saturday’s decisive Group L clash against Croatia.

With qualification for the Round of 32 now within touching distance, Partey’s return to top form offers another major boost for Ghana as the Black Stars prepare for their biggest test of the tournament so far.
