We decided not to lose this match – Samuel Boadu after Berekum Chelsea beat Medeama

Berekum Chelsea coach Samuel Boadu says determination and resilience were key as his side battled to a crucial 2-1 victory over league leaders Medeama SC at the Golden City Park.
The result lifts Berekum Chelsea out of the relegation zone and strengthens their hopes of surviving in the Ghana Premier League with only a few matches remaining this season.
Speaking after the game, Boadu praised the club’s supporters and revealed that his players approached the match knowing they could not afford to drop points against the in-form visitors.
“I thank the supporters in Berekum and all around the globe. It was a very difficult game,” Boadu said.
“Medeama are in good shape. They are the league leaders, and we are also struggling at the bottom.
“We decided not to lose this match. At all costs, we wanted to win this game to lift ourselves in the league table.”
Chelsea produced one of their most spirited performances of the campaign to overcome a Medeama side that has impressed throughout the season.
The victory could prove decisive in the club’s battle against relegation, but Boadu now faces the task of ensuring his players maintain the same intensity and fighting spirit in their remaining fixtures.
With momentum finally swinging in their favour, Berekum Chelsea will hope this result marks a turning point in their fight to preserve their top-flight status.
