Mr. Daniel Essuman the Parliamentary Aspirant for PPP expressed his belief in his party vision to create more jobs. He said his party when voted will create more jobs for teeming unemployed youth scattered in the constituency. This has been the party’s primary agenda and can be fulfilled because it is evidence by the good works that the flag bearer Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has done. This shows commitment and credibility on their path. He further disclosed that he and his party leader Dr. Nduom are in plans to construct a rice mill factory, fruit juice factory and an ultra-modern cold store in the constituency.
‘’Education is a priority for all and the foundation to a brighter future but most times children are been deprived of it. Most schools in the constituency lack the adequate infrastructure and facilities that enhance quality learning. He will therefore work hard to provide facilities to a lot of schools mostly the deprive ones, this he said.
Mr. Essuman promised the electorates about his intention to sustain the school feeding programme. He said ‘’ the major challenge to sustain the programme was due to payment systems and the lack of funds’’. To ensure sustainability he will work with government appointees through proper management systems to ensure that every school and child benefits from the school feeding programme and also ensure a good payment structure.
Mr. Peter Arthur the CPP aspirant on his part said, to ensure continuity in growth he will revive the legacy of Dr. Nkrumah who had laid a better foundation for all Ghanaians. To solve the socio- economic challenge of the constituency he vowed to restore all jobs that have collapsed.
The parliamentary aspirant for NDC Mr. Emmanuel Assefuah also centered on the need of ensuring quality healthcare by supporting and financing clinics and health post in the constituency to reduce pressure on the regional hospital Effia Nkwanta. He also promised to offer open scholarships to brilliant and needy children.
Mr. Egyapa Mercer the NPP aspirant also stressed on improving the oil/ gas sector by establishing the regulatory bodies in the region. He will transfer the headquarters of GNPC on land belonging to the corporation that is Sekondi. He will also employ all means to compel oil companies to stay in Ghana to explore our resources so we can enjoy the benefits. There has not been any development in our oil/gas industries mostly because business has been upstream. He will develop a downstream and integrated oil/gas industry in Sekondi and also work with private sector companies to set up an oil/ gas refinery.
