The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced its most expansive broadcasting agreement to date, extending live television coverage beyond the Ghana Premier League (GPL) to include the Division One League (DOL) and the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Described by the GFA as a “revolution”, the initiative is designed to boost visibility, attract sponsorships, and enhance the market value of Ghana’s domestic competitions.

Ghana Premier League (GPL)

  • TV3 and Onua TV will air live matches nationwide, bringing Ghana’s top-tier action to homes across the country.

Division One League (DOL)

  • Zone 1: Globe TV
  • Zone 2 & 3: Metro TV and Original TV

Women’s Premier League (WPL)

  • Southern Zone: Max TV
  • Northern Zone: Globe TV

This multi-channel approach ensures regional representation, giving fans access to their local clubs and spotlighting emerging talent across all levels.

The GFA’s broadcasting expansion is part of a broader strategy to:

  • Elevate the profile of domestic football
  • Create commercial opportunities for clubs and players
  • Encourage fan engagement across gender and league tiers
  • Lay the groundwork for digital and international syndication

In light of such a landmark move by the Ghana Football Association, they outlined the motive in engaging in such a course:

“This is a revolution in how Ghanaian football is consumed. We are committed to giving every club and every player the platform they deserve.”
