Abronye in custody over ‘offensive conduct’- Police

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye, for “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace.”
The arrest took place earlier on Monday, September 8, and he is currently in custody.
In a brief statement, the Police stated that Abronye is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days. However, they did not provide specifics about the exact nature of the conduct that led to his detention.
This development comes amid growing public attention surrounding the outspoken Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Abronye has recently made headlines after submitting formal requests for political asylum in eight countries, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, Germany, and Côte d’Ivoire.
In his applications, he claimed to be facing increasing political persecution and threats to his life, accusing the current government of using state security agencies for political purposes.
In connection with the case, police reportedly carried out a search at the residence of former NPP Youth Organiser, Moses Abor, on Sunday, but Abronye was not found.
