Abu Dhabi: They won't be playing, coaching or refereeing, but the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Technical team will contribute to AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 by producing the official Technical Report and selecting the winners of the competition's awards.

The AFC's team, known as Technical Study Group (TSG), are an experienced group of technical analysts who will analyse all 51 matches of the largest ever edition of the tournament.

The AFC Asian Cup Technical Report is produced by coaches for coaches, but it is also a publication which has traditionally been of interest to officials, media and fans.

The finalised report will serve not only as a historical record of the competition but also as a detailed technical and tactical analysis, which focuses on the performances of all 24 teams and identifies the latest trends in Asian international football.

"A tournament of the standing of the AFC Asian Cup is a milestone in Asian international football, and the lessons learned from it will have an influence on the further development of the game across the continent," said AFC Technical Director Andy Roxburgh.

The AFC's Technical team will be joined by two FIFA guest analysts; FIFA Head Coaching and Player Development Department Branimir Ujević and FIFA Performance and Game Analyst Chris Loxston.
