Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East in the Central Region, Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr, has launched a mobile healthcare van for her constituents.

Launched under the ‘My health is My Wealth’ initiative, the van will assist in the provision of good healthcare delivery to the deprived areas.

The van has a pharmacy unit to support medical delivery when necessary.

Speaking at the launch, the former Deputy Central Regional Minister disclosed that the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus is what pushed her to establish this mobile healthcare system.

According to her, health officials can now move to the deprived areas to provide services to the people.

She said, out of the about 400 communities in the area, they have been able to reach out to 70 and are hoping to visit other areas.

She indicated that her constituents are very dear to her heart and that she will do everything within her position to provide their basic necessities.

She disclosed there used to be frequent outbreak of cholera in the area but her outfit intervened and excavated garbages in the area which has brought the situation under control.

“A lot has been done under my watch. The priority thing I have done in health is getting rid of filth to evict cholera apart from the mobile clinic. I excavated garbages and the outcome has been positive,” she said.
