Alidu Seidu plays full match as Clermont Foot falls to AS Monaco in Ligue 1 opener

Ghanaian international Alidu Seidu was in the lineup for Clermont Foot as they suffered a 4-2 defeat to AS Monaco in their French Ligue 1 season opener on Sunday.
The Black Stars defender started the game and played the full duration as his team faced a disappointing loss on their home turf.
Clermont Foot initially took the lead with a goal from Mateusz Wieteska just seven minutes into the match. However, Monaco responded swiftly, with Vanderson leveling the score in the 26th minute.
French international Wissam Ben Yedder extended Monaco’s advantage before the half-hour mark, putting them in the lead.
Clermont Foot managed to restore parity in the 53rd minute, as Muhammed-Cham Saracevic found the net after an assist from Alidu Seidu.
Despite the equalizer, Wissam Ben Yedder struck again for Monaco in the 70th minute, securing his second goal of the match and re-establishing their lead.
A late goal from Maghnes Akliouche in stoppage time sealed the victory for Monaco, resulting in a final score of 4-2 at the Stade Gabriel Montpied.
