Bryan Acheampong’s political experience sets him apart– Appiah-Kubi

Asante-Akim North MP and key campaign figure for Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has touted the former Agriculture Minister’s extensive political background as a major advantage in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2026 flagbearer race.
Speaking on JoyNews’ The Pulse on Tuesday, June 24, Appiah-Kubi argued that Dr. Acheampong’s political journey, which includes four consecutive terms as a Member of Parliament, distinguishes him from other high-profile contenders such as former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong.
“Dr Bryan Acheampong has been a fourth-term Member of Parliament. Just contesting in one particular election doesn’t give you the experience that he has, having contested on four different occasions to qualify to Parliament,” he said.
Mr. Appiah-Kubi added that Dr. Acheampong’s cumulative experience across various political and leadership roles equips him with the insight, institutional knowledge, and grassroots connections needed to lead both the party and the nation effectively.
Addressing concerns about the campaign’s visibility, Appiah-Kubi dismissed suggestions that Dr. Acheampong was trailing in outreach. He explained that the team’s approach is grounded in quiet but strategic engagement.
“Our strategy is not just to advertise before we implement the strategy. Our focus is to implement the strategy and to generate the results. We have met with a lot of people, conferred with them, and some are already working for us,” he revealed.
The NPP is set to elect its next presidential candidate in January 2026 ahead of the 2028 general elections.
