Emerging talent Fatawu Ganiwu shines in Red Bull Salzburg youth team’s Brazil campaign

Ghanaian prodigy Fatawu Ganiwu made a dazzling debut with the Red Bull Salzburg youth team in Brazil, contributing to the Austrian side’s second-place finish at the FAM Cup youth championship.

The Black Starlets midfielder, currently on a trial with the club, showcased his skills as he started and played the entire duration in Red Bull Salzburg’s closely contested match against Ibrachina U18.

Despite a 1-1 draw in regular time, they narrowly lost on penalties.

Ganiwu’s stellar performances caught the eye of the technical team, with the exciting central midfielder making five appearances in six matches during the youth tournament.

The 16-year-old talent is poised to secure a deal with Red Bull Salzburg, renowned for nurturing some of the world’s best talents.

Simultaneously, Ganiwu has attracted attention from clubs across Europe, having previously trained with French side RC Lens, who continue to monitor his progress.

The Ghanaian youngster’s stock rose after his exceptional showing at the UEFA U16 Invitational Tournament in Serbia last year.

Playing a pivotal role, Ganiwu contributed significantly as the Black Starlets triumphed over their opponents to clinch the competition.
