Former Kotoko player Kwame Boahene retires from football at the tender age of 28

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko winger Kwame Boahene has reportedly hanged his boots at the tender age of 28 due to personal reasons.

The winger has veered into a different challenge outside football and id currently domiciled in Holland where he is reportedly into something else.

He has been without a club the past three years since departing Kumasi Asante Kotoko where he failed to live up to hi mammoth price tag after a protracted move from Medeama SC.

Boahene joined Asante Kotoko from Medeama in 2016 with a mind blowing transfer fee but failed to meet expectations as he was hampered by injuries and poor form before he was let go by the reds in 2019.

He has in the past played for Liberty Professionals where he shined before securing a move to Medeama from where he joined Kotoko.

The winger was part of the Kotoko squad that won the 2017 MTN FA Cup after beating fierce rivals Hearts of Oak 3-0 in the finals at the Tamale Sports Stadium.
He was also part of the Ghana U20 team that won silver medal at the 2013 Africa U20 Cup of Nations and bronze medal at the FIFA U20 World Cup held in Turkey.
Boahene also played for the Black Stars B under former coach Maxwell Konadu.
