Kumasi Asante Kotoko has declared its support for Mr Gerorge Afriyie in the upcoming Ghana Football Association Presidential elections.

Seven candidates are jostling for Ghana football’s top job with almost all of them speaking about reviving and transforming the dwindling fortunes of the nation’s football.

But it appears former vice president under the erstwhile Kwasi Nyantakyi administration, Mr George Afriyie has won the heart of the porcupine warriors.

Over the weekend in Sunyani, the creme de la creme of Ghana football descended on the capital of the Brong region to catch a glimpse of the mamoth manifesto lauch which was preceded by restoration football matches.

Speaking in an interview with Kumassi based Otec Fm, General Manager of Asante Kotoko Mr George Afriyie confirmed that his club will vote for the Okyeman Planners owner as they believe he has the wherewithal and know-how to steer the affairs of Ghana football to the promise land.

“We have been to many of the manifesto launch of the various presidential hopefuls. We have heard a whole lot about their policies with their manifestos, but George Afriyie’s own stands tall amongst his competitors,”
“And we don’t endorse a candidate for endorsing sake. I George Amoako being the CEO of kotoko has been given the mandate to endorse the candidature of George Afriyie,”
” So, we (Asante Kotoko) have endorsed George Afriyie and that will be same in the elections having been convinced by his policies with his manifesto.”
“The club have given me the mandate to endorse George Afriyie. And for that matter, his vote is with us.”
