GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku on Monday, October 27, 2025, led a delegation from the Ghana Football Association to the Rawlings residence in Ridge, Accra, to commiserate with the family of the late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, following her passing at age 76.

Accompanying him were:

  • Mark Addo – GFA Vice President
  • Prosper Harrison Addo – General Secretary
  • Samuel Aboabire & Eugene Noel Nobel – Executive Council Members
  • Hon. Kofi Adams – Minister of Youth and Sports

The visit offered a moment of reflection and solidarity, as the football fraternity extended heartfelt condolences and honored the trailblazing legacy of the former First Lady.

“Her legacy of service, compassion, and leadership continues to inspire generations,” Okraku shared on behalf of the GFA.

Remembering Nana Konadu

  • First Lady of Ghana (1979–2001) under both military and civilian administrations of President Jerry John Rawlings
  • Founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement, a pioneering force in women’s rights and community development
  • A champion of gender equality, social progress, and national unity

Her passing marks the end of an era, but her impact on Ghana’s socio-political landscape remains indelible.
