Goldfields Ghana extends Medeama SC sponsorship deal

Medeama Sporting Club have sealed a mouth watering $300,000 sponsorship package with Goldfields Tarkwa Damang according to reports in the local media.

The deal is worth a whopping $300,000 for a period of one year.

The new deal, will help cover the cost of the club’s contractual obligations to players and managers technical team members.

It will also help cover their operational cost, as well as medical, accommodation, feeding, and logistics for the team.

Ahead of the start of the 2020/2021 season the mining firm agreed a similar $300,000 sponsorship deal for three years.

As their headline sponsor, the Gold mining firm pay Medeama a staggering $100,000 every year for the next three years.

The Tarkwa based club has grown in leaps and bounds since being acquired by Moses Armah Parker in July 2010 as Kessben FC before rechristening the club Medeama SC and moving it to Tarkwa.

It will turn the commercial fortunes of the club  as it will be the biggest ever corporate sponsorship deal acquired by a single club in Ghana

The sponsorship deal was brokered by board chairman of the club, Dr. Tony Aubyn with the mining firm who have supported the club in various ways the past few years.

Goldfields replaced betting firm Betway as the club’s major sponsor in the 2020/2021 season.

Already Goldfields is undertaking the face-lift of the club’s home grounds the Akoon Park at a reported cost of  $13 million into a  10,000 seater capacity stadium for the club.
