Kotoko to appoint Ibrahim Tanko as head Coach

The former Ghana international is set to take up the coaching role at the Kumasi based side according to reports in the media.

Ibrahim Tanko who has been assistant coach of the Cameroun national team in the past is reportedly in the Ashanti capital negotiating with management of the Porcupine Warriors.

The club will confirm Mr Tanko as substantive coach if a consensus is reached by both parties.

Kotoko refused to make ex-interim manager Michael Osei their substantive coach after he failed to

guide them to a league title triumph last season.

Michael Osei was appointed interim coach after David Duncan was asked to step aside following an abysmal start to the season which saw the Porcupine Warriors drop to the bottom.

Tanko will be confirmed as the substantive head coach, should an agreement be reached.

The Reds were reluctant to appoint Michael Osei as the head coach after he failed to guide the team to the League title.

Kotoko have been in search of a substantive head Coach since the departure of David Duncan.
